You will find some of the drawings, paintings, and digital work I completed while working towards my associates degrees in Visual Art and Design with Empases in Illustration and (hopefully) Design from Salt Lake Community College (2006, and 2011-2013). A Little Bit About Me:I first discovered that I wanted to be an artist when I first saw the painter Bob Ross’s glorious afro and happy little trees on public television. I would go to bed every night with my box of crayons and notebook clutched close, drawing until I fell asleep. As a shy kid in school, I found that art gave me a voice, it made me positive attention from my classmates and teachers, and allowed me oodles of creative outlet. I continued my love for art throughout my life, taking a little detour for a few years to earn an elementary education BS degree and teaching license. I have returned to Salt Lake Community College, so I can become an Elementary Art Specialist and children’s book Author/Illustrator (and who knows what else!) with help from degrees in illustration and graphic design. I have never felt more right and at home in my life than at this time, and I’m excited to see where else my love of art will take me in the future!
A little bit more about me:Some of my interests and hobbies beyond my degree, include crafting and DIY projects, hanging out with kids and family, playing piano and guitar, cooking, gardening, hiking, fishing, camping, traveling, walking my dog, playing dress-up, reading, and always learning, learning, learning!
